KVAS hosted a star party for approximately 30 students, teachers and interested parents from Elkview Middle School on Friday, May 25th.

Here's Rodney's comments:

The Elkview Middle School star party was a success!  The skies were clear but hazy.  We observed the Moon, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter and several deep-sky objects.  One student was said to have an IQ of 160!  Robert Dean presented us with a iridium flash that was right on time.  Robert brought out his generator, in case the power was off.  Melissa Thorner, Chuck Spann, Robert Dean, Ed Connors and myself attended the star party.  Some of us observed till midnight.
