Monthly Meetings
Meetings of the Kanawha Valley Astronomical Society usually take place on the third Friday of each month except for months with special events. Check the schedule below. All of our meetings are open to the public. Normally, these meetings are held at Mathes Hall behind St. Matthews Episcopal Church. Directions to Mathes Hall can be found here. Parties Melissa Thorner presented a review of national star parties at our March meeting. Melissa reviewed all of the Star Parties in the Eastern half of the United States. Her review contained her personal experiences at each event including seeing conditions, accommodations, and her wonderful interactions with the great folks of astronomy from all over.
