From I-64:
Take the Cross Lanes exit, proceed straight through the traffic light in Cross Lanes and go 3 miles.  Turn left on Route 622 North (Rocky Fork Road), go 3.8 miles and watch for the sign indicating a left turn to Camp Virgil Tate. Cross the bridge and go 1.2 miles to camp gate.

From I-77:
Take the Tuppers Creek exit, go 1 mile to Route 21, turn right on Route 21 North. Go 1.2 miles to Sissonville High School, turn left on 622 South, go 4.2 miles, and watch for the sign indicating a right turn to Camp Virgil Tate. Cross the bridge and go 1.2 miles to camp gate.

At Camp Virgil Tate:
Follow the road through the swimming pool parking lot and through the gate. Pass the Dining Hall which will be on your left and turn left immediately after passing the Dining Hall. Proceed past the Boon Maxwell Lodge and through the parking lot. On the far end of the parking lot there will be a gravel road leading to the observatory. After about 150 feet take the left fork in the road and proceed to the parking area at the top of the hill. Please remember that if you are arriving after dark to turn off your headlights as soon as safety allows. You may also park at the lodge and walk up.
