Each fall the Kanawha Valley Astronomical Society sponsors a weekend of astronomical activities in cooperation with the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources and Blackwater Falls State Park. This event is scheduled to take advantage of dark skies that occur shortly after the new moon in late September or early October. Our program features noted speakers, workshops, children's activities and two nights of observing at one of the premier dark sky sites in the eastern United States.  Astronomy Weekend events are FREE and everyone is welcome to attend!
